Transportation Corridor Planner

Our Transportation Corridor Planner position will provide professional planning support to MnDOT’s corridor planning efforts. This includes initiatives related to expanding and improving the practice of corridor planning on the state highway system. This work helps the agency advance adopted objectives for the transportation system in Minnesota including transportation safety, climate action, system stewardship, healthy equitable communities, open decision-making and critical connections. The incumbent will be responsible for:

  • Coordinate with MnDOT district offices to support corridor planning efforts at an individual and system-wide level.
  • Preparation of monthly meeting agendas to review and discuss on-going corridor plans with MnDOT leadership
  • Support tracking of corridor plan spending and prepare analyses monitoring the use of corridor planning funds
  • Provide administrative support of stakeholder trainings on the use of the Corridor Planning Guidebook.

Here are the Minimum Qualifications:

A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Planning, Geography, Urban Studies, Sociology or Political Science OR one year of professional transportation planning experience. The applicant must also demonstrate the following:

  • Experience in the theory and practice of planning. 
  • Experience with statistical analysis using spreadsheets or database applications. 
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
