The Metropolitan Council is the regional planning agency for the Minneapolis/St. Paul metropolitan area providing essential services to our region: transportation, wastewater treatment, growth and development of local communities, affordable housing programs, and regional park systems.  

This position is eligible for hybrid (remote and onsite) teleworking.

The Council’s Research department is seeking one position for  senior OR principal Data Scientist (Demographic/Socioeconomic Researcher) depending on qualifications.

Senior Data Scientist: Will develop and implement statistical models, develop web-based interactive visualizations, and coordinate project work.

Principal Data Scientist: Will act as the project manager for analytical projects with multiple stakeholders and coordinate work efforts across functional areas. Will also provide work direction and training, and advise data scientists, researchers, and business partner teams.

Salary Range:  $78,000 - $127,296 annually
