This is a rare opportunity to lead this premier resort community, recently named one of the best small towns in America. Located on the Shores of The Bay of Green Bay, Egg Harbor is in the heart of Door County, WI, one of the top tourist destinations in the Midwest. Egg Harbor boasts a beautiful, newly expanded beach, a sparkling new Marina, golf courses, breweries, wineries, specialty shops, boutiques, galleries, a flourishing art community, cherry and apple orchards, fine dining, and other unique recreation and cultural facilities and activities. The Door County peninsula is the home to many State recreational areas, including Peninsula, Whitefish Dunes and Newport Beach State Parks which provide for all seasonal outdoor activities. The area is also known for sports fishing. The Gibraltar Area School District serves the Egg Harbor community. The new Administrator will have numerous policies and projects to manage, including guiding the implementation of recently adopted Egg Harbor Comprehensive Land Use Plan and Egg Harbor Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan, overseeing construction of an updated Wastewater Treatment plant and over $10 million dollars in planned road projects, managing multiple development projects, including the redevelopment of the historic Alpine Resort and guiding additional green initiatives, including Solar projects.
Starting salary range is $80K-$90K DOQ plus excellent benefits. Village President and four Village Trustees are elected on a non-partisan basis. Egg Harbor’s annual general and special fund budget is $3 million excluding CIP, and utilities. Staffing levels are 13 full-time employees, plus seasonal staff.
Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in public administration, business administration or related field; Master’s Degree a plus, with a minimum of three years progressively responsible administrative and leadership experience in a municipal organization. Consideration of candidates with private sector or military experience will be made if they can demonstrate accomplishments that directly relate to skills required. The successful candidate must demonstrate a verifiable record of past accomplishments in the following areas: community development/planning, human resource management, budget development and financing, including redevelopment and capital financing, ability to effectively manage contracts and projects, and environmental stewardship The successful candidate should possess a high level of both personal and professional integrity, be a strong team builder and innovator, have acute listening skills, a collaborative leadership style and be able to work harmoniously with elected officials including other governmental entities.
